GW2. Raid Build. Aegis Heal Tank Chronomancer. Mesmer PvE.

Last Update: September 2023
Overview
The Aegis Heal Chronomancer is a support mesmer build with high survivability through blocks and invulnerability, and has the unique option to grant quickness or alacrity depending on what their party needs while using the same set of gear but only swapping a few skills and a trait. It also provides plenty of aegis and stability to protect allies from taking damage, but is not as powerful at pure healing to sustain allies who have already taken damage. The wide range of utility and CC makes this a very versatile tank for most bosses mechanics.
Playstyle
Role: Tank Support
You grant either Quickness or Alacrity when casting phantasms and shattering clones, so prioritize using phantasms off cooldown and generating as many clones as possible with the Scepter 1/2.
Always open with Sword/Shield and use Sword 3 and Shield 4 to generate clones and give boons, then perform the Continuum Split combo:
Continuum Split Combo: 2/3 Clones > Shield 5 + Continuum Split > Well of Precognition > Gravity Well > Swap to Scepter/Focus > Use Focus 5 > Use All Shatters and Mantra Charges > Leave Continuum Rift > Repeat all phantasms and shatters
Always shatter F1 before F2 at 3 clones when on top of your party to give them Quickness and use the F3 for CC.
Wells and Mantras will heal your allies, but mantras only on the initial charge and Wells on the final pulse, so if you want more healing you must use all charges of the mantra immediately and use wells on stationary allies. You can also save the effect of the mantra to ration out more stability/cleanse if need be.
Healing Sources: Creating Illusions (Weapon skills or Dodging), Charging Mantras, Wells
Reflect projectiles using your Focus 4/5
Protect allies with Aegis by Charging Mantra of Concentration, Well of Precognition, Distortion

Noticed when I reloaded the page from aegis-quickness-chrono build that it is now redirecting to this heal build. Not sure if that was intentional due to the build being outdated, but I wanted to point it out. Luckily I took some screenshots before reloading the page 🙂
the previous version was outdated due to other support builds being power crept over time to give healing and boons, yet the chronomancer only gave boons and minimal dps. Now that chronomancer can give healing and boons it can compete with other support options, thus the change in build name
Is this build still viable?
Yes it is
With the SOTO changes, how would this build be altered?
