Overview
The Arcane Staff Tempest is a Support elementalist build with extremely potent healing and revive potential, making it great for recovering from tough mechanics, but also great for serving as the only healer in a composition. This build gives alacrity and protection when stacking on the group, but works as a kiter as well because of its ability to support from range.
Playstyle
Role: Support 
or Kiter 
Combine blast finishers with water fields to create healing combos to heal your party.
Blast Finishers: Water 2, Earth 2, Earth 3 Transmute, Dodging in Earth, “Aftershock!”
Water Fields: Water 3, Water 5
Other Healing Sources: Water Overload, Dodging in Water attunement, “Wash the Pain Away!”
“Rebound!” can be used in clutch situations to save yourself and one party from lethal damage so that they can easily revive the others.
Basic Rotation for Alacrity, Protection, Might, and Healing
- Fire Overload > Fire 2
- Earth Dodge > 3×2
- Earth Overload > Earth 2
- Water 4 > 2 > 5
- Water Overload > 2 > 3

Just wanted to let you know, you have medium gear for an elementist. did you happen to mean Maklain’s Doublet?
maklain the minstrel, its right.
Would there be an acceptable alternative to minstrel’s gear? Maklain’s is awfully expensive to craft, and I’m wondering if there’s another prefix or combo of prefixes that might get it close enough.
I think when you use harrier its still good. Without toughness you can’t be kiter probably.
Harrier’s mixed with some Magi is perfectly fine if you plan to just go boon/heals and NOT expect to tank which can happen with this build. Hence, the kiting part of it.
Oh sorry, I had cele gear in mind, as I’m not sure where to get the recipes for harrier or minstrel.
The exotic Harrier insignias are discovery recipes from crafting with PoF. The ascended form is a random drop from Vabbi or Elon Riverlands meta boss chest. The best way to do the ascended pieces here honestly is to craft an alternative ascended piece that’s way cheaper, like Dire’s, and then use mystic forge to change to Harrier since you only need exotic insignias for that.
Exotic AND Ascended Minstrels is from the Itzel mastery vendor with HoT, or buy from the Heroics Notary.
What does it means for a build to be “red texted”? not reccomended? Hard? Avoid at all cost?
