GW2. Best Open World Build. Celestial Sword Fire Weaver Open World. Elementalist PvE.
The Celestial Sword Fire Weaver is an elementalist build that uses a sword in the Open World for a dynamic playstyle which can be a bit difficult to learn due to the way that weavers can be attuned to two elements at the same time. However, once you get the muscle memory for the combos and attunement priorities, it has plenty of versatility and an engaging gameplay experience.
Due to the celestial stats, this build has plenty of hybrid damage, survivability, boon application, and sustain. Stacking might on yourself by using blast finishers in fire fields and applying vulnerability to enemies with the Primordial Stance gives plenty of damage modifiers, but the main damage source is by far the burning which comes from the fire attunement and specifically the Pyro Vortex which is accessible while dual attuned to fire and air attunement.
Sword / Dagger Rotation
- Swap attunements in this order as a basic rotation:
Air > Fire/Air > Earth/Fire > Water/Earth > Fire/Water > Air/Fire > Fire/Air
or Air > Fire > Earth > Water > Fire > Air > Fire
or pair air with fire for the Pyro Vortex, always enter earth after fire, and only water after earth - Primordial Stance when in Air and Fire attunement for vulnerability and bleeding or in Fire and Earth for bleeding and burning
- Prioritize using the 3 skill when swapping attunements because it often does the most damage and provides you with the most utility, but the true skill priority depends on the combos available to each
Example Rotation
- Air 2 > Swap Fire
- Fire/Air 2 > 5 > 4 > 3 + Primordial Stance > Swap Earth
- Earth/Fire 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > Swap Water
- Water/Earth 4 > 5 > 3 > 2 > Swap Fire
- Fire/Water 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > Swap Air
- Air/Fire > 3 > 2 > Swap Fire
By then you should be running out of skills to use if you haven’t been interrupted at all and did not delay any of your skills, but most situations will not allow you to freely cast and you will be able to run through the rotation from the start.
Key things to note in this rotation is that it uses the combo finisher leaps in the fire fields and the water field to give you damage and healing, but if you don’t need any healing and want full damage you can skip the water 2. If you are heavily pressure and want more healing, you can create a higher healing combo by using more blasts/leap finishers in your water 2 field.
Healing Combo
- Earth > Swap Water
- Water/Earth 2 > 4 > 5 > Swap Fire
- Fire/Water 2 > 4 > 4 > 5
Also remember that each attunement besides Fire has a skill that evades, such as Earth and Water 2 as well as Air 5. Alternating or delaying your attunements in preparation to dodge an attack can be useful to managing your defensive resources for survival.
Weave Self can be used to make your rotation flow faster and to give extra passive buffs. Use it in high pressure situations or when you want the extra damage boost.
