Quickness/Alacrity Variant

The Condition Chronomancer is a more aggressive version of the tank mesmer build which still gives Quickness or Alacrity and some Aegis to allies; but is favorable for condition fights in PvE raids or strikes or when tanking a boss that has high attack speed, allowing great value on the Confusion it stacks up.

Playstyle

Role: Tank DPS

Always open with Axe/Pistol to gain clones fast using the Pistol 4 and Axe 2 twice, then perform the Continuum Split combo when you have three clones:

Continuum Split Burst:

• Pistol 4 > 5 > Axe 2×2 > Axe 3 > Swap
• Torch 5 + Continuum Split > Torch 4
• Signet of the Ether > Torch 5 > Mirror Images + F2
• Leave Continuum Rift
• Repeat from Torch 5

The above combo is optimal for your opener because it starts as fast as possible to give your team Alacrity/Quickness from the start, but it can be possible to do the combo in the opposite direction depending on your cooldown timers and weapon swap timing.

Secondary Continuum Split Burst:

• Torch 4/5 > Scepter 111 > Swap
• Pistol 4 + Continuum Split > Signet of the Ether > Pistol 4
• Mirror Images + F2 > Axe 2 > Axe 3
• Leave Continuum Rift
• Repeat from Pistol 4

Always Shatter F2 Rewinder at 3 clones when on top of your party to give them quickness/alacrity. After Shattering your F2, use the F3 in melee range with no clones to trigger your Akeem relic for more confusion (Pistol 5 as well). When waiting for your phantasms to recharge, use your Axe 2/3 or Scepter 3.

• Stats: Put in some Celestial gear if you need to get more toughness to tank
• Weapon: Use a Focus instead of the Pistol if more CC is needed to organize enemies
• Weapon: Use a Shield instead of the Torch when performing the tanking role because you don’t want to stealth as a tank, and the extra blocks can help you survive
• Rune: If you need more quickness uptime
• Rune: If you need more alacrity uptime

This version of the Condition Chronomancer prioritizes only dealing damage.

When Continuum Rift is almost up, save your F2, Signet of the Ether (Heal Skill), Mirror Images, and one of your phantasms.

Continuum Rift Burst Order:

• Scepter 1 or Axe 2 to get 2/3 clones
• Continuum Rift + Pistol 4 (or Torch 5)
• Signet of the Ether + Mirror Images + F2
• Pistol 4 (or Torch 5) + Axe 2/3 (or Scepter 3)
• Leave Continuum Rift and repeat from Pistol 4/Torch 5

Skill Priority:

When continuum rift is on cooldown, prioritize swapping weapon off cooldown in melee range because your Mischief sigil will blind enemies directly in front of you, and blinds apply confusion. Only use F2 while at three clones, so auto attack on Scepter, use Axe 2, or use Mirror Images to get there, but if F2 is on cooldown by the time you get to three clones, use Scepter 3 or Axe 3. Use Scepter 2 when you can block an attack for faster clone generation and extra damage.
