Getting There
The Mount Balrior Convergence is an instanced group encounter occurring in the Janthir Wilds zone where up to 50 players need to lure out and defeat a legendary Titan. It requires the Janthir Wilds expansion to participate.
The entrance is marked on the map by a blue icon near the Harvest Den Waypoint in Lowland Shore – [&BK4OAAA=]. It can be opened with a squad as a private instance at any time using an .
Alternatively, the public instance will open every 3 hours at XX:00 (starting at daily reset for reference) allowing everybody to join. The access will be available for 10 minutes. Public instances make more sense if you are looking for the daily rewards. Make sure to use a good Open World Build.
General Mechanics
Two general mechanics will occur during the encounter:
- Frozen Soil
When defeated inside the convergence, you become a roaming wisp and cannot be revived by normal means. In wisp form, you will have abilities to support your allies with heals and boons.
- Calibration Essence
After establishing the base camp, collect and return calibration essence to channel a momentary interruption of the frozen soil effect, allowing players to resurrect. Carrying stacks of calibration essence sacrifices health for increased concentration, power, and condition damage. Every 10 stacks will give you the Aetheric Adrenaline buff, which increases your Warclaw’s movement speed.
Phase 1: Escort
Talk to Distant Memory to start the encounter. Escort the caravan up the mountain to establish a base camp. Defend the pack dolyak from two waves of Titanspawn bombers and defeat the enemies in your way there. Once you reach your destination the NPCs will start setting up the camp and building the Tectonic Thumper.
Phase 2: Calibration Thumpers
After the base camp is set, one group should defend it while others construct calibration thumpers at 5 locations marked on the map. Carry supplies to the marked locations using your Warclaw.
The calibration thumpers will need 5 supplies to be fully built. Use skill 2 of your Warclaw to reveal the perfect spots to build them. You may find a few walls blocking the path, use the Warclaw skill 3 to break them.
Once the calibration thumpers are fully built, a timer will start and you must defend them while gathering calibration essence. When the timer reaches zero, a Titanspawn Disruptor will spawn, defeat it and the calibration thumper will become immune to damage. If the calibration thumper gets damaged you can get supplies from the dolyak at the base camp to repair it. If it gets fully destroyed, rebuild it and start the process again.
Deliver the collected essence to either the Tectonic Thumper at the base camp or to one of Distant Memory’s projections (these locations are marked with basket icons on the map), this will increase the Calibration Thumper Synchronization and will help Distant Memory to dispel the Frozen Soil effect and revive players who are in wisp form.
In this phase, powerful titanspawn leaders can spawn from three locations and head toward the Base Camp. Players must defeat them around the thumpers to prevent they take over the camp, for this reason is recommended to have a group of players defend the Base Camp.
A Titanspawn Sapper will also spawn and steal essence from the Tectonic Thumper at the main camp. Reveal him by using Warclaw skill 2, use Warclaw skill 3 to break its defiance bar, and then kill it to get the essence back.
After the Synchronization is fully completed, a Legendary Titan will appear at Mount Balrior’s summit.
Phase 3: Defeat the Legendary Titan
Decima, The Stormsinger
Decima will spawn at Ura’s Throne and you will have 30 minutes to defeat them. Every 25% Decima will burrow and move to another random location. Players must collect Titan Stench to locate them whenever they burrow and move away.
The boss shares multiple mechanics with the version from the Mount Balrior raid. It is recommended to set “Character Model Limit” to medium or higher in the graphic options to avoid issues with some of the mechanics not properly showing up.
- Conduits
Decima will spawn several conduits around the arena at the start of the fight. Some of these conduits will be connected, creating an electric fence that prevents players from passing through. These laser fences will shift in different patterns during the fight.
- Arrows
Decima will often target the furthest player and shoot an electric beam. This attack has two variants, which will be shown as an orange or a red arrow.
The orange one does around 25% of the player’s health. For this variant, it is recommended to aim the arrow at an empty space, so the beam doesn’t hit a conduit, otherwise it will make the encounter harder for everybody.
For the red variant, you have to take cover behind a conduit since the attack will down the players on its way. Every time these beams hit a conduit, they charge them, producing a damaging area below them. This area will get bigger every time a new beam hits them.
Once Decima’s health gets lower than 50% it will start targeting 5 players and shoot five beams in the order they are numbered.
All these arrow mechanics can charge the conduits (up to 3 charges). Charged conduits will have an electric AoE around them and once they reach maximum charges they will apply an Exposed debuff to all players in the area and strengthen Decima defiance bar.
- Green circles
The AoEs below the conduits will turn into green circles that will start moving into Decima. Players have to prevent them from reaching the boss, otherwise, Decima will get stacks and their attacks will do extra damage.
These green circles have an indicator showing the minimum number of players needed to stop them. Stay inside them until they disappear.
