Spear Variant
The Lightning Rod Tempest is a DPS Elementalist PvP build which can deal massive Area of Effect damage through overloads or the Spear skills. While this build is very squishy, it can survive by its many CC skills which apply Weakness to enemies from Lightning Rod and the protection it applies to itself.
The Spear allows for long range damage to freely cast but can be hard to land on moving targets. Spear revolves around the 5 skills which are Etches. They grant boons based on the Etched attunement and if three skills of any kind are used inside the Etch a more powerful ability can be used. While the Air Etch is the most powerful, the others are situationally useful depending on the combo. Fire attunement has high damage but harder to land skills, requiring you to combo them with the CC from Water or Air attunement.
If you struggle to land the skills, utilize the Instant Ground Targeting with Retargeting Enabled or the Snap Ground Target to Current Target settings.

Dagger Variant
The Lightning Rod Tempest is a DPS Elementalist PvP build which can deal massive Area of Effect damage through overloads or Warhorn skills. While this build is very squishy, it can survive by its many CC skills which apply Weakness to enemies from Lightning Rod and the protection it applies to itself.
With Dagger/Warhorn with more reliable CC and damage combos but forces you into risky positioning. Dagger/Warhorn takes advantage of the Air 3 Shocking Aura to stun lock enemies. Transmuting or recasting the Air 3 while you have a Shocking Aura to stun an extra time and set up your burst combos.

Skip to the Water 5 > Earth part of the combo if under overwhelming pressure and faster sustain is required.
