GW2. Best Open World Build. Power Maces Soulbeast Open World. Maces Power Sic Em Soulbeast. Ranger PvE.
The Power Soulbeast Open World with the Maces offers plenty of CC and self-sustain to survive in melee range while also having the option for mid-ranged damage with the weapon swap to Axes. The build is very simple and rewarding to play, but due to being full berserker stats, it can require some decent awareness of positioning and decision-making of when it is safe to enter melee range.
Landing Mace attacks gives you stacks of Force of Nature, which when you reach 5 stacks will recharge all of your Mace skills and increase your damage and healing for the next 5 seconds. Landing all of your 2-5 Mace skills will be enough to enter this mode, so you can easily just press every Mace skill to get the recharge and press them all over again. However, the most important Mace skills to land are the 3 and 5 because they CC to give the Soulbeast minor trait damage modifier and they deal good damage. The #3 skill gives healing to your pet but while merged with your pet it will give that healing to you. Mace 2 and 4 are decent damage too but are mostly useful for the sustain, barrier, and cleansing they provide. Swap to Axe/Axe when out of Mace skills.
There’s also a burst combo you will want to do because of how many damage modifiers you can stack. Using “Sic ‘Em!” while merged with your pet gives you damage modifiers, gaining the Force of Nature buff gives damage modifiers, and landing a CC also gives damage modifiers. If you use the Quickening Zephyr to get quickness to use more animations during this burst window, you can do plenty of burst damage.
Opener Burst Combo:
- Merge with Smokescale > Mace 2 > 3 > 4 > One Wolf Pack > 5 (Enter Force of Nature) > Quickening Zephyr + “Sic ‘Em!” > Mace 3 > 5 > Swap > Axe 5
This combo won’t work so well after your opener because of the weapon swap cooldown being desynced with the Force of Nature buff. After your opener, you can just use all the skills of each weapon. Use “Sic ‘Em!” and Quickening Zephyr together when possible. Prioritize Axe 2 since it has the least cooldown for the most damage. Use the Merged Pet abilities while in Axe to fill in the gaps between your weapon skills (to avoid auto-attacking).
Skill Rotation:
- Axe 2 > 3 > 4 > Smokescale F1/F2/F3 > 2 > 5 > 3 > 2 > Swap
- Mace 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5
Swap to your Siamoth merge to gain access to damage immunity and an extra stun break on the F3 or use the Healing Spring and combo finisher in it with Mace 3 or Smokescale F3 to heal.
