Role: Assassin

The Power Spear Soulbeast is a ranger build for WvW roaming with a high stealth application to disengage or hide its burst animations. While it is mainly a melee build, the Spear offers some extra ranged attacks and there are plenty of leaps from the Sword and Spear to allow you to keep up with mobile enemies.

The Spear abilities have a greater effect when in stealth, but they are decently comparable to their normal skills and share the same cooldown. However, skill 5 changes to a net throw attack when in stealth which has its independent cooldown. In other words, to use more skills in total always use the stealth skill 5 first then follow up with the normal spear skills.

The ability to merge with your pet allows you to gain their stats as well as any bonus your pet would receive such as “Sic ‘Em!” which will grant you 25% more damage, and this along with other damage modifiers can supplement your burst combos. It can have more mobility but is also a bit more risky since it does not have the luxury of the long range of the longbow. Kiting and waiting for both weapon set cooldowns to be up before performing a larger combo will pressure enemy cooldowns and dodges more effectively than swapping and using cooldowns immediately.

• Smokescale Merge > Warhorn 5 > 4 > One Wolf Pack + “Sic ‘Em!” > F2 > Sword 3 > Swap Pet > F3 > Sword 2

• Smokescale Merge > Warhorn 5 > 4 > One Wolf Pack + “Sic ‘Em!” > Weapon Swap > Spear 5 > 3 > F2 > 5 > 5 > F3

Stealth

• Smokescale F2 > Warhorn 5 > Sword 3 > 2
• Spear 5

Alternatives

• Sigil: instead of Air
• Relic: for extra speed
• Relic: for extra damage from CC

Alternatives

• Pet: Raven instead of Boar if need more mobility
• Utility: instead of “Sic ‘Em” for extra evade
