The Power Virtuoso Open World build is a Mesmer that uses boons, damage modifiers, and pulsing damage sources to create burst combos resulting in a playstyle that imitates the crescendo of a bard’s song.

Always pull enemies together with the Focus 4 so your Rain of Swords and Dagger 3 can hit as many targets as possible while also gathering boons from blocking attacks and using shatter skills. Then swap to Spear and perform the burst combo for a huge overlap of damage and puts you in melee range to more easily line up your targets for your piercing bladesong shatters.

Burst Rotation

• Focus 5 > 4 > 4 > Dagger 3 > Rain of Swords + Thousand Cuts > F5 + 2 > Swap
• Spear 2 > 5 > 2 > 4 > F1

Psychic Force can knock back enemies when you are pressured, but this can disorganize enemies out of your AoE damage. Try to use it with strategic positioning to organize enemies together when your Focus 4 is on cooldown to allow you easier targeting of multiple enemies within your line of fire. It can also grant you fury which is necessary for your damage modifiers if you can’t get the fury by blocking or using the F3 shatter. Try to only use your F1-5 shatter skills when at 5 blades so that you can get the extra 2 blades refunded.

Use the Spear and Focus 4 to gain swiftness or Blink to teleport for mobility when out of combat. F4 Distortion may be extremely useful when you are in danger, so prioritize using this as your shatter if it would allow you to survive and keep putting out damage while invulnerable. Spear 3 is also an evade frame and condition cleanse which can be saved for security or used for damage if no other cooldowns are available.
