GW2. A complete guide on how to get your Primordus Variants for the Aurene Legendary Weapons in Guild Wars 2. End of Dragons.
Elder Dragons Variants
Each one of the Aurene Legendary Weapons has six variant skins themed in the style of the other Elder Dragons (Zhaitan, Mordremoth, Kralkatorrik, Jormag, Primordius, and Soo-Won). These skin variants have different appearances, visual effects, and animations, according to the theme of the Elder Dragon they are based on.
Of course, you will need one Aurene weapon first so make sure to check the following guide first if you haven’t yet:

After you account-bind your first Aurene-themed Legendary Weapon, you will get the achievement called “Arms of a New Cycle” done, and you will receive a mail from Leivas letting you know about the existence of these Elder Dragon variants.
NOTE: These variants require you to participate in events that might be located in maps from older expansions or maps from the living world seasons, so you will need access to that content to complete the skin variant collection.
Primordus Variant

Credit to Lord Hizen for the video.For the Primordus Variants, first, you need to buy four Scale Splinters of Primordus from Leivas in Arborstone, and combine them into one Scale Fragment of Primordus by double-clicking any of them.
This will unlock the achievement called “Aurene’s Facet of Fire”. This achievement consists in obtaining the following 7 items:
Scale Fragment of Primordus
This item is obtained after combining the four Scale Splinters of Primordus. Buy them from Leivas in Arborstone. They will cost you:
- 350000
Karma - 10 – Chunks of Ancient Ambergris
- 2500
Research Notes + 75 
Gold - 100
Spirit Shards
Purified Scale Fragment of Primordus
To obtain this item, you have to defeat the Megadestroyer World-Boss near the Maelstorm’s Waypoint -[&BM0CAAA=] in Mount Maelstrom. Check the event timers here.
Completed Memory of Primordus
For this item, you have to complete the sub-achievement “ Memories of Fire and Destruction“.
This sub-achievement consists on acquiring 250 fragmented Elder Dragon memories by doing events or defeating enemies in maps such as Ember Bay, Draconis Mons, and Destroyer Dragon Response Missions or defeating the Megadestroyer world-boss in Mount Maelstrom while the Purified Scale of Primordus effect is active.
Lingering Destroyer Aether
To obtain this item, you have to defeat the Legendary Destroyer Aestus or Ignis in Draconis Mons while wielding an Aurene-themed Legendary Weapon.
These two Legendary Destroyers spawn at the lower levels of the map, one on the west side of the boiling sea and the other on the eastern side.
Purified Destroyer Aether
For this item, you have to interact with Aurene’s focusing crystal at the beginning of the “Only Zhul” jumping puzzle to get the Unpurified Aether.
Purify the aether at the second focusing crystal located at the end of the jumping puzzle. You can find this jumping puzzle north from the Foundation 86 Waypoint – [&BE4CAAA=] in Timberline Falls.
Uncharged Fragment of Prismatic Fire
Return to Leivas in Arborstone and buy the Uncharged Fragment of Prismatic Fire. It will cost:
- 200 – Jade Runestones
- 250 – Memories of Aurene
- 5 – Mystic Clovers
Fragment of Prismatic Fire
To obtain this final item, you have to complete the Dragonstorm encounter with the Uncharged Fragment of Prismatic Fire in your inventory while wielding an Aurene-themed Legendary Weapon.
Access this encounter by speaking to Brek Harrowflight in Hall of Monuments near Eye of the North Waypoint – [&BAkMAAA=] when the public instance opens.
You can also open a private instance at any time creating your own squad for it. Check the event timers here to see when the next public instance opens.
Once you get the Fragment of Prismatic Fire, return to Leivas in Arborstone and use it to redeem a Primordus-themed skin variant for any of the Aurene-themed Legendaries you have previously unlocked in your Legendary Armory.
