Alacrity DPS Variant

Overview

The Staff Alacrity Mirage is a mesmer build that can survive with high evasion and distortion uptime while also providing alacrity , might, and fury to allies. It can be a ranged tank or kiter for fights like Broken King or Sabetha, or a safe ranged alacrity DPS.

Playstyle

Role: Tank Kiter or DPS

Dodging will allow you and all of your clones to perform the Chaos Vortex ambush skill on your staff 1. This will do great damage over time and share alacrity to nearby allies because of how many ways you can trigger a dodge. Your heal skill False Oasis, Shattering Distortion, and the utility skill Crystal Sands will create a mirage mirror (purple diamonds) that will grant you mirage cloak (dodge) when you walk over them. Weapon swapping does nothing but trigger your energy sigil on both staves which will also give you more dodges.

Because the staff 3 takes several seconds to create clones, Shattering F2 can be a loss in damage, so if you plan to shatter F2, precast the 3 before your shatter and then after a few seconds use F2 and then staff 2 to maximize the clone uptime while still getting the shatter burst.

Gameplay

Kiter Variant

As a ranged kiter, you can still provide great damage with the same gear as the DPS version, but taking a Sword/Focus instead of a second staff for more mobility and CC. With the Inspiration traits you will provide Aegis to your allies when you gain distortion from signets which will protect allies while you are immune to damage, allowing you to also perform the role of a tank.

Mimic can be used with Signet of Illusions for refreshing shatters multiple times to allow you to double your Distortion uptime, making you extremely tanky for surviving while separated from the group when performing the kiting role.
