GW2. Support Specter PvP Build. Scepter/Pistol Support Specter PvP Build. Support Thief PvP.
Support Specter is a Support thief build for PvP with the potential to heal allies through stealth application, barrier, dark auras, and the many boons that the Shadow Shroud applies.
It is important to learn all the different methods of healing on this build because they will help to maximize your healing potential as well as your ability to adapt since some are better in other situations.
Healing Methods
- Scepter 3 (keeping distance with max value)
- Dark Aura (burst heal comboing with wells)
- Sneak Attack (when under pressure)
- Shroud (Versatile)
Scepter 3 ports you towards your ally or away from an enemy. Use this to constantly stay in range of your ally to heal them with the second part of Scepter 3 which gives barrier, regeneration, and quickness. This provides a ton of value, but requires a lot of animation investment so it is ideal to use it until the fight becomes too fast and bursty or you are under pressure and getting disabled.
Targeting your Scepter 3 on an ally can be difficult, but with specific keybinds it can be easier.
Keybinds – Set a key for these in the Control Options
- Nearest Ally – Great for quickly targeting someone when you can move toward them to ensure they are the closest target, but may not be able to click on them.
- Set Personal Target – Place an orange icon above their head, this will remain there until you change it or they run off-screen. Other allies cannot see or interact with this one, so it is independent of the red icon you can place. Place this on a priority ally you want to ensure you can keep alive.
- Take Personal Target – Change your target to the player you placed your Personal Target on. This allows quickly swapping to them when in more hectic situations where it can be difficult to find them.
Dark Aura will cleanse and heal allies when you gain it. Using your F1 Siphon or heal skill will grant you
Dark Aura, but also using a blast finisher in a dark field will generate Dark Aura. Wells will create dark fields and the shadow arts trait Cover of Shadow also creates one when using F1. The Scepter 2 is also a blast finisher, so if you cast your wells and dump all your initiative into the Scepter 2 to blast those fields you will burst cleanse and heal allies with Dark Aura while also triggering the Karakosa relic.
Burst Healing Combo
- F1 > Scepter 2 > Well > 2 > 2 > Well > 2 > 2
However, when under pressure you will need to use the Sneak Attack to heal allies because gaining stealth will help to peel enemies off of you. The Scepter 1 in stealth provides a good amount of healing to the targeted ally, so all you need to do is stealth and wait to get away from enemies then use the Scepter 1 on an ally. Stealth can be gained from the Pistol 5 smoke field with combo finishers.
Stealth Sharing Combos
- Pistol 5 > Shroud 2 > 3
- Pistol 5 > Scepter 2
- Pistol 5 + Blinding Powder
- Shroud 5 > 2 > Pistol 5
The last method of healing is through using Shroud abilities which cost nothing to use so you should use all of them, but the most important are the Shroud 3 and 5 because the first gives protection, and the second gives aegis and stability. The Shroud abilities are also finishers so they can be used to gain dark aura by comboing with dark fields, or stealth by comboing with the Pistol 5.
