Wuthering Waves Jianxin Character Guide

WuWa. Wuthering Waves Jianxin Guide Character Build. Aero DPS/Tank/Support.

Jianxin is a 5-star character that wields Gauntlets and uses Aero as her elemental damage. She is an extremely versatile character that can be a Tank, Support, or DPS. She can survive well and counter mechanics with her Parry attack, shield or heal allies, and pull enemies together.

Pros – Versatile. Can solo many things without the need of other party members, great for conserving Vigor in the Tower of Adversity.

Cons – Does not optimally fulfill either role of DPS or Support.

Team Compositions – Jianxin can fit into many compositions as a fill spot or to provide pulls to organize enemies if there is already a main DPS and a Support. She can also provide a hefty shield before bringing out a vulnerable DPS character to protect them. While she does not provide many offensive buffs, she can transition with her Outro that gives 38% Resonance Liberation damage to the next character if they have a high impact Ultimate.

Skills and Playstyle

Basic Attacks – Use these whenever possible to fill your Forte gauge quickly.

Resonance Skill (E) – You can press the button (E) and it will do an attack that shoots a wave of air to damage and generate Forte and Resonance Energy, or you can hold it down and if anything attacks you in the next few seconds it will mitigate the damage of that attack, Parry if possible, then do the same attack afterwards.

Forte Circuit – When full, she can hold her Heavy Attack to channel Primordial Chi Spiral. This will continuously damage enemies in a wide radius around her and build up a shield over certain intervals shown on the Forte gauge. Jianxin will gain 50% damage reduction during this and her resistance to interruption increases. The shield and final attack is much more powerful if the entire animation finishes. This shield heals every 6 seconds that it is active, but can be removed through damage or will fade after 30 seconds. If you swap characters this shield will transfer to them, allowing you to heal them as long as the shield remains.

Resonance Liberation (R) – Creates a large wind field that pulls enemies towards the center while damaging them. After a few seconds, the wind will disappear and a massive explosion will occur. This is great to hold your enemies still so you can also charge up your Forte Heavy Attack on them for two pulsing damaging areas, or you can cast it and then immediately swap characters so your other team members can take advantage of the enemies being clumped together.

Rotation

  • Q > Basic Attacks > E (to Parry) > Basic Attacks
  • Forte Heavy Attack + R > Outro

Whether you want to use your Forte Heavy Attack before or after your Ultimate (R) depends on the situation. If you really need to land the fully charged shield and there is a good chance you’ll be interrupted, save the Forte for when it is safe or while enemies are disabled by your Ultimate. But if you are just trying to support your other DPS characters, then get as much shield as you can, then cancel it with your Ultimate before you take too much damage and lose your shield.

Intro – Pull in nearby enemies while damaging them.

Outro – Provides a buff to the next character which allows them to deal 38% more damage on their Resonance Liberation for 14 seconds or until switched again.

Should you try to pull extra sequences for Jianxin?

Yes. Not only does each sequence make her more powerful, they add extra mechanics and effects to make Jianxin’s kit feel more fun, less punishing, and more reactive. Without her sequences, she is still very versatile and viable, but with all six sequences she transcends many previous limitations. If you can’t afford to go that far, two sequences is a good compromise.
