Role: Medic
The Celestial Firebrand is a guardian WvW roaming build that has great self-sustain in groups to lead the frontline while providing relevant damage, CC, support, and a wide array of utilities. This playstyle feels like a Paladin due to its hybrid fighting and healing capabilities.
The sustain of the build is mostly passive from regeneration and the Altruistic Healing trait constantly triggering from all the boon output. Also, the swap sigils will trigger on swapping tomes, so you can decide to stay on the Spear if you need more sustain, or Sword/Torch for more damage, and swap the tomes to trigger the sigils.
Share Quickness and Aegis to nearby allies with the Mantra of Solace which will also heal them due to the Relic of Flock. When using the F1 Tome 5 or applying Quickness, allies will gain a buff that applies Burning to their attacks, allowing you to focus on one target with your team and obliterate them with burning damage, Torch 4 will also add more. While waiting for the cooldown of your damage combos, you can support your team using the F2 and F3 Tomes or swapping to Spear.

Using Tomes skills will consume pages which is a shared resource, requiring some management to not run out of skills to use. However, using 3 Tome skills in a row will refund 1 page. This means it is more efficient to use a combo of 3 Tome skills in a row before swapping out. The F3 Tome skills are quite expensive and situational so no combos are necessary, just create the projectile reflect on 3, resistance/stun break on 4, and aegis/protection on 5 then exit.

Any alternative weapons for torch ?? Not a big fan

After Celetial nerf should i go Rituarist or Trailblazer for this build?
Cele is still good, but if your supporting allies may as well go full healer, but i play a better version of this for cele, that has more burst than most pure dmg builds, while still having the support aspect of the build.
virtues is so much better over valor has the same allie support but synergies better with cele, gain all the expertise/condi duration so the cele nerf does nothing to this build, signet of judgment 100x better than lore, I run with 4 stun breaks on this build, still offers boons to allies but as well as a 5k+ burning and stun break, can cover condi and stack like 30k worth of burns combined with running with like a harb or another aid build
axe/torch is better, more cc/dmg better symbol that synergizes with cele better, spear kinda a waste, yeah you can have more allie support but for a cele build and firebrands main dmg it contributes is condi not power, it’s not that great, especially after the nerfs, Longbow would be better 1200/1500 range 2x cc again a better symbol with burning/vigor/
whole point of cele is abusing might stacking builds that can heal and still do lot of dmg, makes no sense to play your build in cele, dmg is awful, and support would be the same if you were running more offensive line like virtues.
relic you picked makes sense but again may run full support, if we roaming in cele, may as well run wayfinder for mobility with other mobile roaming builds, we already running balthazar runes
While I agree to some extent, another conclusion that could be made is why run cele firebrand if you aren’t playing with a team to support them when cele willbender exists? Firebrand is just a worse version of willbender for the idea you’re going for, so if you have to play firebrand you’d prefer to play it supportively. If you want full support then that’s zerging and you go to the zerg section firebrand. If you want solo roaming, it’s willbender. If you want roaming firebrand, this is what we feel is best.
Willbender feels really bad to play if your going for the 2012 burn guardian feel, Path of fire Firebrand felt so good for a burn guard before they drastically nerfed it in wvw. I think a lot of people dislike the playstyle of willbender unless your playing a burst power dmg assassin playstyle.
Firebrand feels rewarding to play and probably one of the harder Guardian trait lines to master, since Guardian has traditionally been the easiest profession to play in guild wars 2. I’ve seen a trend and thirst as of late by many roaming communities wanting a viable Firebrand burn guard build, lot of people trying to cook one up.
That cele pistol/pistol willbender feels atrocious to play and it’s not very good, willbender was not built for any type of sustain or condi pressure, it’s too squishy and the damage on it is not very good. Firebrand is also the only traitline that still has good burn duration on their F1 virtue, the F1 dmg tome has the best burn dmg/burst, especially with all the nerfs Dragon hunter got on their F1 and nerfs to the duration on big game hunter. Firebrand has potential, just needs to be cooked. Has to be some kind of Plague doctor’s or apothecary stat combo that would work similar to pvp sage amulet, where you can have high condi dmg/boon duration/off healing for your mates but still get that proper burn guardian roaming feel.
