The Power Virtuoso is a WvW roaming mesmer build that has heavy burst from the Spear and Bladesong Shatters, while having mobility and defense from the Sword/Shield set. While it has plenty of pressure and sustain, it can lack chasing potential.

Most of the build’s synergy relies on successfully evading or blocking attacks which gives you boons like Fury and Quickness and feeding you more blades to shatter. This means you may sometimes need to put yourself into risky positioning to evade or block attacks to give you damage boosts. Using any F1-5 skill will give Aegis which can randomly block an attack during your burst combo to give you offensive boons. Dodging will also make your next Bladesong F1 unblockable.

Sword 3 has a different effect on Virtuoso. It leaps in and deals decent damage, but leaves behind a return spot you can reactivate to port to. Use the Sword 3 to leap in, then evade with Sword 2 or block with Shield 4, then port back out with the Sword 3 return. This allows you to get into risky situations to trigger an evade or block, then blast your enemies from range with the Bladesong Shatters.

Prioritize using the F1 shatter as it is your main damage source, but F2 also hits hard. Avoid using F5 unless you are high on blades (if you need the invulnerability from Blade Renewal but already have max blades), but F4 Distortion is great invulnerability to keep pressuring targets while they can’t attack you, or to safely stomp enemies.

Spear 2 is your main source of damage, but even more than landing the damage which is increased at the edge of the radius you want to hit it because it empowers your next Spear ability. Empowering the Spear 5 will turn it into a stun, and empowering the 4 will allow a second phantasm. This means you want to land your Shield 5 to stun to ensure your Spear 2 lands, then using the empowered Spear 5 can stun for your next Spear 2 which will be instantly recharged after using Spear 5.

• Sword 3 > 2 > Shield 4 > 4 > Shield 5 > F1 > Swap
• Spear 2 > 5 > 2 > 4 > F1 > 3
