GW2. “Sic ‘Em!” Soulbeast Roaming Build. Power Survival Roaming Build. Ranger.
Last Update: October 2023
Skirmishing Variant
The Sic ‘Em Soulbeast is the most aggressive ranger build for WvW. The ability to merge with your pet allows you to gain their stats while gaining the pet bonus yourself, such as “Sic ‘Em!” which will grant you 25% more damage to burst down your enemies as long as you are merged. This can be played with a longbow for greater burst, or a staff to avoid being countered by projectile reflects.
Skirmishing relies on positioning and reflexes to survive. With the Vicious Quarry trait you gain improved Fury and ferocity, so it’s very important to keep the boon uptime to maximize your damage. Using One Wolf Pack enables you to burst even harder with multi-hitting attacks. This is one of the few builds that can afford go all offensive in gear and traits because you still have the advantage of long range.
Longbow Burst Combo: Smokescale Merge > One Wolf Pack > “Sic ‘Em!” > Longbow 4 > 2 > F2 > F1 > F3 > Greatsword 2 > 5 > 2 > 3
Sword Burst Combo: Smokescale F2 > Warhorn 5 (Stealth) > Merge > One Wolf Pack > Warhorn 4 + “Sic ‘Em!” > F2 > F1 > F3 > Sword 3 > 2
Your sustain is mostly tied to the stances (Bear and Dolyak), “Protect Me!”, and performing stealth combos. Enter stealth by using the Longbow 3 or Greatsword 3 + your Smokescale’s F2 for a smoke field leap finisher, Sword 2, Sword 3 and Warhorn 5 are also combo finishers.
While in stealth you can reposition, cast Longbow 5 to cover yourself because you must stand still to cast it, or disengage with Greatsword or Sword. Get used to entering stealth in between your burst combos to survive and stall for your cooldown timers.

Wilderness Survival Variant
The Wilderness Survival variant of Soulbeast is balanced between very good damage output and good sustain with the access to more dodges and protection, and is great for beginners while still having plenty of skill cap to pursue.
Condition cleanses come from the Wilderness Knowledge trait, which whenever you use a survival utility skill you cleanse 2 conditions. Troll Unguent with the Lesser Muddy Terrain trait counts as two survival skills, and swapping pets for Lesser Quickening Zephyr counts as another survival skill. This also keeps up your fury which grants extra damage as a Soulbeast.
Merging with the Smokescale allows aggressive burst combos with a good port to target from long range, which can be combined with the Greatsword for enough threats that enemies run out of dodges. Greatsword 2 Maul is the hardest hitting attack and boosts the damage of your next pet attack by 25%, but if you are merged it gives that buff to you, so the order of your combos matter for which skills you want to boost. Also make sure to always use “Sic ‘Em” while merged so that your pet does not get the damage buff, but rather that you do. Use this during your bursts for heavy damage modifiers.
Burst Combo: Smokescale Merge > One Wolf Pack > “Sic ‘Em!” > Longbow 4 > 2 > F2 > F1 > F3 > Greatsword 2 > 5 > 2 > 3

For underwater pets, what would you recommend?
shark
Scholar isnt better for berserker build?
Scholar can work yes, we prefer Pack runes for the critical chance/fury
Would you still go for One Wolf Pack or run Entangle after the october 17th nerf?
For the skirmish variant yea you still use it, the nerf was necessary because it was super OP but now is just good, and theres nothing else to take instead. I use entangle on the wilderness variant.
ive done the Wilderness Survival Variant. i only got 20k-22,9k life (only with rune of vamparism) you got 28 in the video what do i miss?
During that video I was testing different combinations until I found the most optimal which is listed here. If you want more health you can use full marauder, and also remember while you merge with Raven you gain extra health as well.
Still good if I use dagger/torch like here ? : https://guildjen.com/condition-druid-build/
Not really, dagger and torch are condition weapons
Is mixing Staff and Greatsword ok? Or is Staff mainly meant to be paired with Sword/WH?
You can mix the way you want, only make sure you have the proper fury trait
