GW2. WvW Build. Celestial Virtuoso Roaming Build. Virtuoso. Mesmer World vs World 2023.

Last Update: Feb 2023
Overview
The Celestial Virtuoso is a build with incredible sustain and constant ranged pressure. The key of the build is the blade generation being the source of the healing, all the skills and traits that originally affected clones are now affecting blades so I will explain the synergy in detail.
Illusionary Inspiration trait plus Signet of Ether passive effect are the main source of sustain, they are healing you each time you stock blades (blade generation) and you get them from block and dodges by the Psychic Riposte trait. (you need to evade an attack with the dodges)
When you attack with a Bladesong (the shatter skills) you will also heal by the Restorative Illusions trait, with more healing depending the number of blades. At the same time you will gain Aegis by the Bladeturn Refrain trait, which allow you to block a next attack and stock 3 more blades, and this begins the loop.
As long as you have room to stock blades you will keep generating, attacking and healing. If you already have 5 blades you can’t stock more so you won’t be healing anymore. Use them constantly, this playstyle allows you to be very aggresive with constant attacks and healing at the same time, pretty good huh?
There are other traits giving you more healing power and Aegis from F4 which is already a block.
As the offensive side of the build, Shatter Storm allows you to pressure and heal even more by having 2 charges of Bladesong Harmony. However the main damage comes from Bladesong Sorrow because the active damage from Confusion will compensate the lack of Might that is necessary for using celestial stats. This makes the build leans towards a condition playstyle.
Scepter will also offer more Confusion, blade generation and block, while torch provides good stealth, burning and potential interrupt with the phantasm. Staff is another source of random Aegis but most important is the use of Phase Retreat to regain distance when you are very pressured.
You need to face enemies to use Bladesong shatters but as long you aren’t pressing a movement key, your character will turn automatically to face the enemies and shoot, you need to get used to it.
You want blocks and dodges, to sustain and keep attacking, very powerful build with overpowered celestial stats. While it’s the best to maintain the Signet of Ether passive effect, you can still use it for a spike heal if you are unable to stock blades by block or dodges, unblockeable attacks are dangerous. Even if you waste dodges or the passive effect, you still have other sources to sustain pretty well.

Thanks for this build! Curious as to your thoughts on running Signet of Humility over Mass Invisibility since the update on March 29th?
Yes moa is a very good alternative, it’s up to you, I prefer Mass Invi to escape and survive mostly.
Thanks! This is probably just my inexperience with the build and celestial builds in general, but do you have any issues clearing camps efficiently? I’m only using exotic gear, so no infusions what might be part of the issue, too.
I find using sword off hand instead of staff better. Gives you more block, extra dps with sword 5, and using Malicious Sorcery in Illusions tree gives you more blades with faster auto attack equating in more healing and more dps.
Would Anti-Toxin runes be worth a shot for a bit more condi cleanse? Also, ty for the guides, they’ve been really useful.
Not really, I originally thought the cleanse was low so I started with mantra but after playing it longer (and you can see in the most recent video) just having double cleansing sigil and the Restorative Illusions trait is more than enough.
Viable to run a Greatsword with this? I know it’s not a Condi weapon, and an a longtime Mesmer player, but really want to craft something similar to utilize the Sunrise I farmed for.
Maybe a GS – Sword / Torch variant?
then run the power virtuoso and use a greatsword, why force a greatsword onto a condi build
Ended up basically on that actually! Except swapped Dueling out for Inspiration. And hey, thanks for all the content online you add to this game! Love your videos.
Or Illusions for Inspiration, sorry.
It seems like Psychic Riposte is a bit dodgy in stacking blades consistent, pun.. And having to place Blade Renewal in your utility slot, seems like wasted utility space overlap.. Maybe go Infinite forge for stacking blades, and use that utility slot for something more versatile.. I can also imagine running short in damage with the Staff and since stealth is not your main prior, maybe switch Mass Invisibility for something like Thousand Cuts – Great combination with Sword of Decimation, if you can leave the Blade renewal behind, could be a versatile option.. Just adding info, cheers..
