The Mortar Scrapper gains plenty of superspeed and quickness to manage positioning in fights while utilizing the long range of mortar to maintain constant pressure while kiting. Function Gyro can be used aggressively for damage or saved to get the finishing stomp or a revive. Always spam mortar at first to bait dodges and cooldowns. When you can get into melee range use your Gyros and Hammer combo. When hammer skills are on cooldown, kite away and use mortar attacks until your combo is back up and repeat.

You gain damage reduction and utility from a vast array of boons which you gain by using Gyros, combo finishers in fields, using Tool Belt skills, and swapping into kits, so spamming your skills out in quick succession is necessary. Quickness in particular is gained by using Tool Belt skills and Gyros which can allow you to use the otherwise slow and clunky hammer skills to great effect. With quickness the Hammer 1 can even be used to pressure.

Skill Rotation:

Mortar 3 > 2 > 4 > Hammer 5 > Function Gyro > Blast Gyro > Shredder Gyro > Hammer 3 > 2 > 4 > Swap Mortar

Use the Medic Gyro, its tool belt skill, or Mortar 5 for a water field which you can leap through with Hammer 3 to resustain.

Set your Ground Targeting option as “Instant” as well as enabling “Skill Retargeting” and practice aiming with your Mortar Kit while moving for better accuracy. This improves your damage output while under pressure or kiting drastically. It also will bait out many more dodges and cooldowns with well aimed mortar fire.
