Role: Assassin
The Power Air Tempest is a WvW Roaming elementalist build that makes use of the powerful overload abilities to do tons of damage. Combined with the Weakness from Lightning Rod and the Protection uptime, this otherwise squishy build can still survive with a more aggressive DPS playstyle.
It can use the Spear for more cluttered group situations, or it can use the Dagger/Warhorn for more small scale situations. Either way there is plenty of AoE damage which you should take advantage of with choke points around terrain.
The Spear allows for long range damage to freely cast but can be hard to land on moving targets. Spear revolves around the 5 skills which are Etches. They grant boons based on the Etched attunement and if three skills of any kind are used inside the Etch a more powerful ability can be used. While the Air Etch is the most powerful, the others are situationally useful depending on the combo. Fire attunement has high damage but harder to land skills, requiring you to combo them with the CC from Water or Air attunement.
“Aftershock!” can be used at any time to blast more might or healing, and to immobilize enemies so they cannot evade your damage combo. It will also give a magnetic aura which will reflect projectiles, and this can also be gained by Overloading Earth or Earth 4.
If you struggle to land the skills, utilize the Instant Ground Targeting with Retargeting Enabled or the Snap Ground Target to Current Target settings.
