GW2. Raid Build. Condition Tempest Alacrity DPS Build. Elementalist PvE.
Last Update: April 2024
Role: DPS
The Condition Tempest Alacrity DPS is an elementalist build that can give Alacrity, Protection, and Might to allies as well as provide some heals in difficult situations. It’s a relatively forgiving build to play that isn’t selfish because of how much utility it has, making it great for any team composition.
To provide Alacrity, you must overload attunements as often as possible. Always swap to the next attunement while casting a skill (except overloads) to minimize animation loss.
Basic Rotation Structure (It is not a strict rotation but this is a representation, some skills will change their place in the order each rotation):
- Earth 3 > 2 > Signets > Overload > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2
- Water 2 > 3
- Fire 3 > 2 > Signets > Overload > 5 > 3 > 2
- Water 2 > 3
- Repeat from Earth
Priority Skills:
The Signet of Earth and Fire also do great damage, but you want to use them at times when it is convenient to do so in your rotation because they can be used in any attunement. The best times to do so is after your Fire 3 > 2 or Earth 3 > 2 while waiting for your Overload, or when swapping attunements.
The Warhorn 5 skills in Fire and Earth are powerful but can only be used once per attunement swap, so they are the lowest priority skill to use. As long as you use them once it is fine, but do not delay using your Overload or Signets to do so. Warhorn 4 in Fire and Earth give extra boons and may help to upkeep your Alacrity and Might uptime.
The Pistol 3 > 2 combo in Fire and Earth is the highest priority because you want to use this twice per attunement swap, meaning you will generally use it as soon as you swap into Fire/Earth and right before swapping out.
When you must CC, swap to Air and use the 4 and 2, then Water 4. Water Overload and Warhorn 4/5 can be used to heal your teammates when in high pressure situations.

A really interesting build. Would Ritualist gear be an interesting alternative, especially considering the boon support potential of the build? And might that then trigger different runes, maybe? Do you find the extra toughness from Signet of Earth to be a problem sometimes, like with tanks who want to min-max their DPS (and have toughness only slightly above 1000)?
Also, what about Sceptre in place of Dagger? Sceptre generally gives 25 might stacks faster than Dagger.
If your tank refuses to put on a couple more pieces of toughness gear then just take another utility. Ritualist isn’t really necessary but it can work, same as scepter but dagger feels better flow although it makes little difference so it should be preference.
does this still work?
Yes ofc
For the Alac version. I see you use skill 3 > 2 in both fire and earth. But on Snow Crows variant they do the reverse 2 >3 which grants an aura at the cost of dps. but Tempestuous trait gives damage modifier when you have a aura. Which is best in a group setting?
you get auras when you overload so its not for that reason. Some prefer to pre cast bullets so they can do a specific order, but the very small increase is not worth the inconvenience of having to check your bullets
Hello! Looking at running this for my first PvE. I’m new to the game and I don’t have SotO so I don’t have access to pistol (I only have the first two expansions so far). Is there a different weapon set/rotation you would recommend in that case?
