Crucible of Eternity Dungeon Guide

GW2. Dungeon Guide Crucible of Eternity. A complete guide on how to complete Crucible of Eternity Dungeon. Story and Explorable mode. All paths.

Getting There

Enter Crucible of Eternity from the dungeon entrance at Crucible of Eternity Waypoint – [&BEIFAAA=] in Mount Maelstrom or by talking to the Dungeon Transportation NPC south of Fort Marriner Waypoint – [&BDAEAAA=] in Lion’s Arch.

You will need at least four players for the explorable paths of this dungeon.

Story Mode

  • Crucible of Eternity Story Mode is for players level 78 and up. Completing this will unlock Explorable mode which is for players level 80 and up. You can do explorable mode without having done Story Mode, but at least one person in the group must have completed Story Mode to open an Explorable Path.
  • Use the walls to lure the Inquest to more easily fight them.
  • The golems can stun lock you so be careful and bring stun breaks.
  • Subversion Specialists can channel a beam that stuns you for a long time. Use stability or interrupt them to free your allies.
  • In the room with experiments, take out the consoles first which can only be damaged with power or strike damage. More experiments break free the more of these that remain.
  • Go down the stairs and wait for the dialogue to open the door, then pass through and kill the inquest and their golems.
  • When you reach the control nexus, Zojja will need you to protect her while she shuts it down. Kill the golems and inquest quickly which will spawn in a clockwise rotation, If Zojja is not defended you’ll need to revive her and the event must be restarted.
  • Afterwards make your way to the radiation hazard hallway. Pick up a resonance rifle and talk to Zojja when ready. Stand inside the area around Mr. Sparkles to be protected from the radiation and use the rifle skill to stop the sparks from damaging Mr. Sparkles which will cause the golem to stop to repair. Make it all the way through to reach the final boss.
  • Kudu
    • There are three phases to this fight.
    • At first Kudu is inside a golem and he will summon many static fields which will stun you if you cross them. This can be dangerous to do so if his golem is chasing you because it can do a heavy chain attack in melee range. It is very slow and easy to avoid, but if you are stunned by the static fields it will be unavoidable.
    • When the golem is destroyed, Kudu will come out and use two abilities.
    • There is a rifle kill shot which is unblockable and will deal massive damage, stand behind terrain or walls when he is charging his shot to avoid this.
    • He will also disperse into static charges which can deal plenty of damage if you get hit by multiple of them in melee range, and then he will appear at one of their final locations, making it hard for you to detect where his next kill shot is coming from.
    • Once Kudu is dead, his monster will be unleashed. There are multiple attunements this monster can swap to, but for the most part you just want to stay out of any bad stuff on the ground, dodge the stomp attacks, and stay away from the claws that pop up.

Explorable Mode

Better rewards are offered in explorable mode, and each path gives an extra bit of liquid gold once per day, so doing more difficult or longer paths may be worth it if it pays more.

Also doing 8 different unique paths will complete the Dungeon Frequenter repeatable achievement to earn a which contains 150 Tales of Dungeon Delving and 5 Gold.

All explorable paths provide 20 Tales of Dungeon Delving after completion, but the first time each day you will get 80 Tales of Dungeon Delving as a bonus, for a total of 100 daily. This currency can be used to redeem other rewards like weapons and armor skins with exotic stats, runes, sigils, and other materials.

Complete map:

Path 1: Submarine

Length: Medium
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 35 Silver
NOTE: You will need at least 4 party members to do the laser puzzle

  • Start by running down the hallway with Agent Spire and protecting her as you fight off icebrood. Select Path 1 after the cutscene.
  • Fight Subject Alpha in the next room and learn the timing of his attacks. You want to stay in melee range and dodge at the moment the attack lands, not early or late.
  • Make your way through the underground tunnels to fight some golems, use line of sight to gather them.
  • Laser Puzzle
    • Four players must interact with the four consoles at the same time. Two players need to make it to the other side of the lasers, and two need to stay back. All party members should attempt to do the laser puzzle so that when two make it, the others can go back. There are technically three consoles on the far side, but one player can stand between two of them to satisfy both of them.
    • The laser puzzle can be performed by hopping over each of the horizontal lasers in a steady rhythm fast enough that you get to the end before the vertical lasers make a return trip. Begin jumping right before the vertical lasers start moving in the opposite direction so you will be between two sets of vertical lasers. Use teleport skills once you made it half way to travel the rest of the distance.
  • Keep progressing until you make it to the control nexus where you must turn off the alarm. Players must sit there and interact with the console for a very long time to do this, and it must be done five times. If they are hit by any of the exploding golems their action will be cancelled. Dedicate a player or two to take out the golems before they explode so that others can channel the console in peace. Multiple can be done at once, so 3 performing the console and 2 defending it followed by 2 console and 3 defense will be enough to finish this event. Each time you successfully interact with the console, elite golems will spawn, making it hard to interact with the console until they are dead.
  • Choose to save or kill the inquest in the next room. Your decision to save the inquest forces you to fight some dragon minions, but killing the inquest forces you to struggle with your conscience. Subject Alpha will reappear to harass you.
  • Bjarl the Rampager
    • You cannot damage this boss while his ice shield is up. You must lure him to run into one of the pillars in the room to break it.
    • Stand away from him while the shield is up, do not stand on top of him or he won’t charge at a pillar.
  • Subject Alpha returns once again and you must finish it while timing your dodges.

    • Split up and coordinate pressing them at the same time, but do not stand on top of your cannon or a dragon’s tooth appears above your head and interrupts you.
    • Bait the dragon’s tooth away from the cannon and then channel it.
    • Jump to the center of the lava pit and deal damage to the boss while it is vulnerable, repeat the cannons once the shield returns.
  • Subject Alpha returns once again and you must finish it while timing your dodges.

Rewards

Some will require you to complete explorable path a few times (between 1 to 7 times depending on the piece).

Additionally, completing the dungeon story mode will unlock a reward track for PvP and World vs World that you can use to gain currency and unlock skins while playing those game modes. However, unlocking a skin through the reward track won’t necessarily unlock it on the Dungeon Merchant.
