Overview

DPS Catalyst is an elementalist with great utility from all the attunement skills of the staff and high damage over time with the Fire Area of Effect skills. Also the Elemental Celerity elite skill allows you to choose more of which skills you need for that situation.

Disabling/Immobilizing enemies or dodging attacks will grant stacks of Elemental Empowerment, which increases your stats to deal more damage. Try to use Earth 4/5 and Air 5 first to lock down enemies and give you damage modifiers for your Fire attacks.

Jade Sphere energy can easily be gained by hitting multiple enemies with your long ranged staff attacks. Once you have enough energy, you can cast a Jade Sphere to give boons to allies, which mostly you want to do in Air for Quickness or Fire for Might. Having at least 10 might will grant a major bonus to your power, so prefer to cast your Fire Jade Sphere on yourself when doing your damage combo.

Main Damage Combo: Fire 2 > 5 > Fire Jade Sphere on self > Relentless Fire > Fire 2 > Elemental Celerity > 2 > 5

While casting your Fire 5 Meteor Shower you cannot move your character which makes you very vulnerable, but you can use the Fire 4 ( evades backwards) before starting the cast of the Fire 5 (with Fast Ground Targeting enabled) and it can extend the range of your Meteor Shower so you can cast at a safe distance. Also using Lightning Flash mid cast will continue the original cast but move your character in the direction you feel is safest. Feel free to use either of these techniques during your main damage combo depending on the danger of the situation.
