GW2. WvW Build. DPS Scourge WvW Zerg Build. Necromancer WvW. Large Scale WvW Build.
The DPS Scourge is a heavy damage backliner necromancer for WvW squads and zergs that can remove boons and share barrier to nearby allies, making it a well-rounded DPS that provides a lot to its party. Using Manifest Sand Shade (F1) you can spread barrier and cleansing to allies near you and your shade using the F2/F3.
Otherwise, it is your job to remove boons from enemies to enable your team to CC and damage targets while you add supplemental damage. Which boon corrupt you use will depend on your positioning and the situation. Use Point Blank AoE Corripts when near the enemy, and Ranged Corrupts when distant.

The highest boon corrupting skills are Ghastly Breach and Well of Corruption, but they take some time to pulse, so using them early will get better value. Use the faster corrupts afterwards like Scepter 3 or Signet of the Locust, then while casting those use the Desert Shroud F5 since it has no cast time. Save your Trail of Anguish for a stun break, but if necessary it can also be used to corrupt boons when running through the enemy. After using your corrupts, find a good target to land your Focus 5 > Axe 2 combo on for a single target burst.

This variant of the build is fine but not the best.
The best build for zerg play has the following changes to this build:
1. Scepter+Dagger instead of Staff (allows to maximize strips and adds a lot more pressure)
2. Curses instead of Soul Reaping (this change is needed to give Scepter+Dagger the pressure I mentioned in 1.) – Curses traits mid – mid – bottom
3. Absorption+Energy on both weapon sets (the added corruption is a lot more pressure than vision; though losing the Fear of Staff, Scepter 3 often causes interuption when stripping due to the high likeliness your target has Stability. so you will end up with more pressure in most cases)
The main goal of Scourge in large scaled WvW is to provide pressure through high strip count (don’t spam your strips, though – coordinated Well/Shade bombs are the key to success in a zerg). Though it being a Power DPS build, the DPS is not the main focus of this build.

Is this still viable for zerg or small scale ?? I see most sites have curses in the build . I really enjoy using staff tho . I mostly play in 10-20 man groups . What scourge so you think is my best option
Yes it’s meta for zerg, nothing changed yet, probably June 28 patch will change stuff, we are waiting to see
Possible to get an update soon? Really want to play necro in WvW and i think it got changed with this patch. Thanks in advance
