Necromancer (Scourge)

DPS Scourge is a heavy damage backliner that can remove boons and share barrier to nearby allies, making it one of the more supportive DPS. Activating the F5 Desert Shroud will grant lots of damage modifiers which can be done during your wells for massive burst damage when your team needs a coordinated bomb. Focusing single targets is also very strong because the Axe/Focus set with Spinal Shivers into Ghastly Claws .

This variant of the build is fine but not the best.
The best build for zerg play has the following changes to this build:
1. Scepter+Dagger instead of Staff (allows to maximize strips and adds a lot more pressure)
2. Curses instead of Soul Reaping (this change is needed to give Scepter+Dagger the pressure I mentioned in 1.) – Curses traits mid – mid – bottom
3. Absorption+Energy on both weapon sets (the added corruption is a lot more pressure than vision; though losing the Fear of Staff, Scepter 3 often causes interuption when stripping due to the high likeliness your target has Stability. so you will end up with more pressure in most cases)
The main goal of Scourge in large scaled WvW is to provide pressure through high strip count (don’t spam your strips, though – coordinated Well/Shade bombs are the key to success in a zerg). Though it being a Power DPS build, the DPS is not the main focus of this build.

Is this still viable for zerg or small scale ?? I see most sites have curses in the build . I really enjoy using staff tho . I mostly play in 10-20 man groups . What scourge so you think is my best option
Yes it’s meta for zerg, nothing changed yet, probably June 28 patch will change stuff, we are waiting to see
