Entanglement Achievements Guide

GW2. A complete achievement guide of the Living World Season 2 Episode 2 “Entanglement”.

Entanglement (Story Journal)



“Entanglement” Mastery – 5AP – 1MP

This is the meta achievement for which you need to complete all 9 eligible achievements. The rewards for this are 5AP, 1 Mastery Point and the Quetzal Crest Ascended Accessory with Nomad’s stats.



Story Completion Achievements – 0AP – 1MP


Entanglement – 0AP – 1MP
Journal: “Entanglement” Completed

Once you complete the story episode, you will earn this achievement and unlock all the rest of the achievements, you can replay the episode and you will see Purple markers to replay each instance necessary for achievements. In other words you can’t earn any achievements during your first playthrough.


Story Instance Achievements – 45AP


Fire for Effect – 5AP
Story Instance: Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough

For this achievement you need to kill five Inquest with one single barrage from Scarlet’s turrets. After securing the first security console just fire the turret at the thick group of Inquest and you should get the achievement. You might not get the achievement instantly because the turret takes a few seconds to kill the enemies, just keep firing at the largest cluster.

NOTE: This achievement is mutually exclusive with “No Tricks”. You will need to run the instance twice.



Mess with the Bull… – 5AP
Story Instance: Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough

After securing the second console, you need to defeat the Inquest as a steam minotaur without ejecting. This is very easy to do, simply avoid taking too much damage, dodge the Inquest red circles, use skill #1 “Throw Gear” to damage them, and when they are too near use skill #2 “Steam Stomp” to knock them back.

NOTE: This achievement is mutually exclusive with “No Tricks”. You will need to run the instance twice.



No Tricks – 5AP
Story Instance: Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough

To earn this achievement you need to complete the instance without using the turret or the steam minotaur. So this is mutually exclusive with “Fire for Effect” and “Mess with the Bull…” achievements.

Don’t use the first or second console, just get rid of all Inquest by yourself. You will earn the achievement at the very end of the instance. Wait for all the dialogue to finish.


Dropping Like Flies – 5AP
Story Instance: The Concordia Incident

During the initial encounter you must prevent any NPC inside or outside the Fort from dying. This achievement used to be hard to do solo because you will need to protect allies inside and outside, however, with the current specs playing a class with high DPS and mobility like Thief will make it very easy. The main threat are the Thrasher enemies because they do big damage with their spin skill that throws conditions, you can snipe them with ranged attacks or reflects.



Time Waits for No One – 5AP
Story Instance: The Concordia Incident

This achievement requires you to complete the instance under 10 minutes, it’s easy to do but be careful with not running ahead of Magister Lindsay because the event can bug out. You can do this achievement at same time as “Dropping Like Flies” by killing everything fast to finish and protect the NPCs.


On Swift Wings – 5AP
Story Instance: The Concordia Incident

To earn this achievement you need to find and rescue all survivors. Once you clear Concordia and then save Magister Lindsay. Seven NPCs will spawn around (seven as solo, more if in party). Go to each NPC to prevent them from dying by killing the Mordrem around them, and interact with them to make them retreat. In the following images you can see their locations:



Timely Arrival – 5AP
Story Instance: Trouble at Fort Salma

Just after you reach the gate, Belinda will start speaking from above the walls. Move quickly northwest and prevent the Seraph members from dying to the Mordrem enemies, you will notice a group and one Seraph already dead, snipe them with high DPS, you have time until Belinda finishes her speech and the Mordrem will start attacking the NPCs, then resurrect the dead Seraph and they will follow you to the gate.



Butterflies and Viscera – 5AP
Story Instance: Trouble at Fort Salma

On the fight versus the Mordrem Thrasher boss you need to defeat it without losing any of Marjory’s minions. These are the Bone Fiends which will move slowly toward the boss. You will notice them by the shield icon, they will be attacked by wolves so it’s recommended that you do this with a party, so you can split between defending the minions and damaging the boss. However, if you play a high DPS class you could kill the wolves and swap target to the boss quickly without problems.



Sheltered from the Rain – 5AP
Story Instance: Trouble at Fort Salma

During the fight versus the Mordrem Thraser boss you need to avoid getting hit by any of the projectiles that the boss will throw from his spinning attack. It can be hard to tell which projectiles are from the boss and which are from the Tendrils around, the best recommendation here is using ranged attacks and avoid everything. You can protect yourself under Kasmeer’s Feedback but be aware that it will destroy even your own projectiles.
