GW2. Best Open World Build. Power Chronomancer. Mesmer PvE.

Last Update: December 2023
Overview
The Chronomancer is a mesmer specialization and this open world PvE build summons phantasms and clones in massive quantities, allowing it to hide behind an army of illusions which will deal damage and take the attention of enemies.
Always prioritize using phantasms first such as the Sword 5, Greatsword 4, and both utilities Phantasmal Disenchanter and Phantasmal Defender. These will deal the most damage and provide you boons like might and quickness. Optimize how many phantasms you can cast by recharging them with Signet of the Ether, or by casting them inside the Continuum Rift, which will reset all cooldowns. Use your F1 when you have three clones unless you are going to use those clones for your Continuum Rift.
Continuum Rift Combo:
Greatsword 4 > 2 > 3 > Phantasmal Defender > Swap > Sword 3 > 2 > 5 + Continuum Rift > Gravity Well > Phantasmal Disenchanter > Signet of the Ether > Sword 5 > Phantasmal Disenchanter (Use all Shatters to gain alacrity)
Use as many phantasms in your continuum rift as possible, then repeat the entire combo again when you leave the rift. Try to land your Gravity Well on as many targets as possible to lock them in place for your phantasms.
While waiting for your phantasms to recharge, make use of the Sword auto attacks while you have quickness or use the Greatsword 2/3. Use Well of Precognition, Sword 4, or Distortion to survive in between your big burst combos. If you need more defense, the Inspiration traits can give you more sustain. Otherwise the Domination traits will give you more phantasms on your Greatsword which will be doubled by the Chronomancer trait Chronophantasma, summoning four phantasms per cast.
The Relic of the Midnight King gives you Fury to increase your critical strike chance when you disable an enemy, but the duration is not that long. You must either use Gravity Well liberally, or you can use your F3, Sword 4, or Greatsword 5 to grant Fury to your phantasms when they are near you and because of the Illusions trait Persistence of Memory that Fury will be applied to you as well.

Hi.
I see you use rupture sigil on sword/sword. But how to you interrupt with sword skills? F3 is a very long cooldown, so any other way to proc it often enough for the sigil to be useful? Does it proc on phatasmal defender?
Defender does yes, but also sword 4, shield 5 if you swap weapons while it is returning, and of course gravity well
Looks like the Aegis trait was just changed. Any suggestions on how to update the build?
Hi, thanks for this! im struggling to learn the chronomancer. This looks really fun, but can the relic of the midnight king be replaced by something else (for those that do not own soto)?
