GW2. Power Reaper PvP Build. DPS Necromancer PvP.

The Power Reaper is a DPS necromancer PvP build that has massive burst and kill-securing potential when chilling its targets. Still, because it is a melee necromancer it relies heavily on positioning and knowing when to go in to survive. Use the staff to poke and gain shroud when it isn’t safe to go in, and then enter shroud with the quickness and damage modifiers when the time is right to get kills. It has great sustain and condition cleansing capabilities, but does not deal with burst or lockdown well.
Pressure cooldowns and gain life force using your staff whenever possible. Since staff marks do not require you to face or be anywhere near your target, getting maximum range by moving away while casting will allow you to avoid being focused while still progressing your rotation. When ready to go for a kill, use the Dagger 3 or Warhorn 4 to get immobilize or chill then enter into Shroud.
Basic Rotations:
- Staff 2/3/4/5
- Axe 2 > 3 > Warhorn 5 > Enter Shroud
- Shroud 2 > 3 > 4 > 3 (Fear) > 5 > 111 111
Try to use Spectral Armor before going into Shroud in a large team fight engagement or a situation that may decide the fight. This will pump your life force generation even while you are in shroud, to allow you to stay in longer to get the most damage out while being in the safety of shroud.

Alternatives:
- Weapon: Dagger can replace Axe for more healing and life force, then take Overflowing Thirst in Blood Magic
- Weapon: Replace the Warhorn with Focus for more boon removal and burst, then take Lynx Rune for movement speed and Fireworks Relic
- Weapon: Greatsword or Spear can replace Staff, then take Speed of Shadows in Soul Reaping instead of Soul Marks

why not staff sword? to still have some control?

Build says Axe/Warhorn instead of Dagger/Warhorn
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but not finding this build to be very good. Staff seems lackluster, hard to land dagger hits. As soon as I go shroud I get jumped and slowed, can’t really do anything.
Because staff is your utility weapon to control the node, cleanse conditions away from you, get some regen and apply conditions to the opponent while giving you a lot of life force generation by taking soul marks.
Does this run Axe/Warhorn or Dagger/Warhorn

These people that write these guides are noob mag zerglings, most of these builds are dog water for pvp/wvw other than the ones written specifically by vallun.
This build is actually written specifically by Vallun, and none of us belongs to mag in WvW, but thx for letting us know that they did hurt you.
Classic Power reaper, always fun and hits pretty hard. Could sword/warhorn or sword/sword replace the axe set for extra mobility? Or do you think the damage is too low for that.
