The Power Shatter Mesmer for Open World is a Mesmer build that locks down its targets with dazes and stuns, then does heavy burst shatter combos to the disabled enemy. While the core mesmer lacks sustained damage over time, the open world often does not require you to sustain fights longer than a minute. This build has great burst damage combos to instantly defeat enemies and tons of CC to break stagger bars.

The main damaging skill is Mind Wrack (F1) which requires clones to shatter, preferably three of them for maximum damage. You also deal significantly more damage to targets that are disabled, meaning that a disable should be used before or during your shatter combos. The Mesmer Rune and Paralyzation sigils will increase the duration of stuns and dazes, allowing you a larger window of time to do your combos or to deal more damage for longer periods of time.

Start by using the Phantasms in each weapon set (Greatsword 4 or Sword 5), then stun the target or disable them while generating more clones with the other weapon skills, then use the F1 Mind Wrack while the target is still disabled, and finish up with a secondary Mind Wrack by using the Mirror Images to create clones quickly.

• Sword 5 > 44 > 33 > 2 > Swap
• Greatsword 2 > F1 > 4 + Mantra of Distraction > 3 + Mirror Images > F1

Certain enemies will have greater defenses, and Signet of Humility will turn them into a Moa bird which makes it easier to burst them. It can also be used to do heavy CC to defiant bosses to break their stagger very quickly.

Alternatives

• Relic: for extra sustain
• Sigil: instead of Severance for an accessible option
• Weapon: Replace Sword offhand with Focus to pull enemies together.
