Celestial Mirage Open World Build

GW2. Best Open World Build. Celestial Mirage. Mesmer PvE 2022.

Last Update: September 21

Overview

The Celestial Mirage uses the Infinite Horizon trait to make all clones ambush on dodge, doing heavy damage over time while at a safe distance. Because you use your dodges to deal damage, you may not have access to one when you really need it, so saving Illusionary Ambush for a free dodge is important. Illusionary Ambush can also be used to transfer your clones to a new target since this build has a slow ramp up time. Jaunt and Staff 2 can be used to reposition out of danger.

Although you don’t want to shatter your clones too often, you can Cry of Frustration (F2) when your Staff 2/3 are up since it will give you vigor and a bit more confusion.

Skill Rotation:

  • Staff 2/3
  • Dodge
  • Ambush (1)
  • Swap Weapon
  • Dodge
  • Ambush (1)

  1. Hey.
According to 23 august patch, this build will be nerfed?

“Chaos Vortex (Staff Ambush): (PvE only) Might stack count reduced from 8 to 5, and might duration reduced from 15 seconds to 10 seconds. Torment, bleeding, and confusion duration reduced from 8 seconds to 7 seconds. ”
    Problems with might?

  2. Hi GJ.

Got a question! Love you guides and builds. Long time fan, first time caller! Love this build. Question: Why pick Ineptitude in Dueling? I do not see anything that causes interrupts to kick this off? I’m sure I am missing something. Wondering if Deceptive Evasion would get the build moving faster? thanks!

    • The trait have 2 parts, if you read it again you will notice, it gives blind when you interrupt, but besides that, everytime you inflict blind it gives confusion, so you can inflict blind from other sources as well, like chaos armor and cry of frustration, the trait basically allows you to add more confusion.

      • Oh. so really nothing in this build really triggers an interrupt. But some things trigger blindness, and that then gives confusion. Got it. ty ty

        • You do have interupts as well, chaos storm, and diversion, so thats even more confusion but not the main focus of why I take that trait

          • I missed the daze in those! dang. OK I will try it with both skills and see which fits my play better. Thanks, and thanks for all you do for GW2!

          • Np if you want to take Deceptive Evasion is fine as well, I just think using skill 3 and 2 in staff is enough to get your 3 clones, and when those skills are about to be ready to use again, you shatter with F2 and resummon, thats the entire loop.

  3. Been having great success with this, thanks a lot!
Does the announced November 29 Balance Update change anything about this build?

    • It won’t affect this build much, just a small drop in Might generation, maybe we will consider updating the rune after testing to get a bit more boon duration, but the change was aimed to prevent Axe clones to give Alacrity, so playing double staff you will be fine.

  4. Hi, if I use runes from Superior Rune of Perplexity, is the damage buff and survivability better? I was thinking of going with them over the adventurer ones but I don’t know if they are better.
    Sorry for my English 🙂
