The Condition Reaper for Open World is a necromancer build also known as the Minion Master. It is a distinct playstyle that summons minions to distract enemies with many different targets and to overwhelm with superior numbers.
The survivability of the build is immense, so you should always be on the front lines with your minions even when using the staff because you can share your vampiric aura to your minions. Triggering the Geomancy and Hydromancy sigils does a big burst and can even occur when going into shroud while on that weapon, so try to be near enemies when swapping to the greatsword or into shroud.
With the “Rise!” shout, Reapers can generate the most amount of minions which when they eventually die will explode and create poison fields. On top of pulsing poison, these fields can be used with whirl finishers from Greatsword 2 and Shroud 4 to create extra poison projectiles. Chills will also slow down enemies and give bleeding, which come from Shroud 5, Staff 3, and the Hydromancy sigil. Casting the Putrid Explosion from your Bone Minions will also create a poison field while also performing a blast finisher to weaken foes.
Skill Rotation:
- Staff 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > Swap
- Greatsword 5 > “Rise!” > Explode Bone Minions > Greatsword 2
- Enter Shroud > Shroud 5 > 4 > 2 > 3
Use Greatsword 4 to blind groups of mobs for more defense, but it can interfere with your chill/poison combo finishers. Lich Form can also be used for more burst as opposed to Flesh Golem.

Aaaaah, an oldie but a goodie. This is one of my favorite builds. Funny, almost ALL of my favorite builds are minionmancer builds. XD
I’m ****** enough to have try that in WvW, as people always try to kill your minions you end up in funny situation sometimes where the guy trying to assault you is already 50% hp. Even tho it’s stated as an openworld build it kinda works ngl
I sometimes go heal scourge with minions for LOLs. Fun to just play around with!

Yes it is the same
I play this basically identical to the build here and it still works yes. It’s not going to win any DPS competitions, but it basically cannot die. You get 30 stacks of carapace in the first few seconds of any fight, and that sends your toughness to the moon, you basically don’t have to worry about condi damage either. It’s great if you just want a relatively easy time in the game.
Only problem comes with you get transformed or something, because that de-summons every minion and puts them on cooldown, but that’s pretty rare.
Currently this build works using or there are better gear or skill mods when using this build.

Superior Rune of the Afflicted is not better for this build ? Since it’s provides +10% poison duration, +20% bleed duration, +175 condition damage and +10% condition duration.
It could, but movement speed is too important for open world. It’s your call.
Hi Jen! Can i use this build with Celestial gear or it would be too bad? I’m new when it comes to playing as a necro.
