GW2. Open World Build. Power Daredevil Open World. Staff Daredevil. Thief PvE.
The Power Daredevil for Open World is a thief build that dodges to deal damage using the Staff which is a simple weapon to use but requires good positioning and timing to survive and maximize damage dealt.
Dodging deals damage and gives damage modifiers. Try to dodge once every few seconds before using your damaging skills. Use Signet of Agility, Steal, or Channeled Vigor when you run out of dodges.
Because dodging displaces your character, you want to dodge through your enemy so that you land on top of them to deal damage, rather than dodging away. Make sure to stand at maximum melee range when performing your staff skills so that you can immediately dodge through your target and be in range to keep attacking with staff skills.
Skill Priority:
- Dodge to upkeep Bounding Dodger buff
- Steal (if needing gap closer or more resources)
- Channeled Vigor (if needing dodges)
- Staff 5 (if needing an evade or mobility)
- Staff 2
- Staff 1
Position yourself at the maximum hit range while using Staff 1 so you can time your dodges when you need to evade an attack but still dodge through the enemy to still be in range and damage them with your dodge.

Love this but would it work with PVT gear instead of Zerker?
No, but if you want more vitality you can use a mix of Dragonโs or Marauderโs stats, just keep attention to not overcap critical chance.
I really wonder what is the Swindlerโs Equilibrium trait is for tho? seem to have no effect unless underwater unless using a sword which this build is not, am i missing something?
Mostly just for extra power, the other options arenโt better choices.
bonus power
I would like to know more about how to play this build in solo open world. I set up everything as in the build and can efficiently nuke random mobs. However, I also went to a random story mission and had lots of trouble there, I died 5-6 times. This is definitely operator error on my side, but I could not get the condis off me and the damage I was suffering was in a sense too constant and spread out. Iโm coming from the Cele Tempest build, so I definitely need to do something differently, I just donโt know what.
Is swapping in Invigorating Precision when you are truly solo more common than I think? Am I not dodging enough?
Yes the invigorating precision is listed as an option, but you should be evading more than 50% of the time, and if you dodge randomly then maybe half of that 50% may overlap with actual attacks hitting you. Changing the rhythm of your dodging is important by weaving in auto attacks and timing the dodges for when actual attacks are coming at you which might delay your rotation a bit but make you take a lot less damage. Then you just need to make sure youโre doing the rotation correctly so you can maximize how many dodges you can do. It takes a bit more practice than cele tempest.
