GW2. Best Open World Build. Power Scrapper Open World. Flamethrower Scrapper. Engineer PvE.
The Power Flamethrower Scrapper for Open World PvE is an engineer build that invests heavily into damage because a percent of all damage dealt is granted back to you as barrier, meaning the more damage you deal the more you can survive, and since engineers can do many AoE abilities this can scale well into large numbers of enemies.
There are three different weapon sets to choose between. Swap to your hammer when attacking in melee range or single targets, the Flamethrower for more spread-out clumps of enemies, or the Mortar Kit when attacking from range. This gives you plenty of versatility to keep attacking enemies no matter what kind of formation you are against to constantly generate barrier to sustain yourself.
You gain Quickness when using Combo Finisher Leaps, Whirls, or Blasts in Combo Fields which helps to speed up your animations and combos.
Combo Fields:
- Blast Gyro (Finisher and Field)
- Function Gyro (Finisher and Field)
- Mortar 2/3/4/5
- Bulwark Gyro
- Flamethrower 4
- Hammer 5
- Medic Gyro/Tool Belt
Combo Finishers:
- Blast Gyro (Finisher and Field)
- Function Gyro (Finisher and Field)
- Shredder Gyro (Whirl)
- Hammer 2 (Whirl)
- Hammer 3 (Leap)
- Flamethrower 2 (Blast)
Once you’ve gained Quickness, it is important to keep up swiftness, superspeed, and stability for even more damage modifiers from the Object in Motion trait. You can get swiftness by using the F5 Function Gyro which creates a lightning field that you can blast with Flamethrower 2 for a swiftness combo. Using any Gyro utility skill or your Tool Belt skills Bypass Coating or Reconstruction Field will grant you superspeed which is also great for positioning your skills, and sitting in the Flamethrower will passively grant you stability at which point you can use the Flamethrower 1 skill repeatedly for heavy AoE damage.
Common Quickness Combo:
- Hammer 5 > 3 > Swap to Flamethrower during the leaps
- F5 Function Gyro > Flamethrower 2 > F1 > Blast + Shredder Gyro > 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
If you need extra healing, use your Blast Finishers in your Healing Fields from Medic Gyro/Tool Belt and Mortar 5.

Hi all, was wondering if Dragon equipment would be a worthwhile investment with this kind of Scrapper or Mechanist OW build.
Is this better than the flamethrower Mech equivalent?
Is the Valkyrie amulet intentional or an error?
fixed
Whats a good relic to use in place of zakiro until we get that?
