GW2. A complete achievement guide of the Living World Season 1 Episode 2 “Sky Pirates”.
Sky Pirates Mastery
This is the meta achievement for which you need to complete 7 eligible achievements. The rewards are 10AP, an Aether Visor box and an exotic Aetherblade Signet Ring.
NOTE: If you are looking only for the eligible achievements for this mastery achievement and not interested in getting them all, I will mark them on this guide with a Star ⭐next to its name.
Besides the collection, this exotic trinket can be used to obtain an exclusive skin through the Mystic Forge with the following recipe:

NOTE: If you destroyed the trinket you can buy a new copy from Sarettokk at The Undermarket – [&BCgEAAA=] in Lion’s Arch.
Against the Aetherblades (Old Mastery)
This is somewhat the old meta achievement for which you need to complete 12 eligible achievements. It’s not exactly as the original release since some achievements changed their name. The rewards for this are 50AP and a Mini First Mate Horrik.

Case Closed (2013) – 20AP
You solved the mystery. The good people of Lion’s Arch can breathe easier now. This achievement belongs to the original release but you can still earn it by completing the story.

Get the wounded Ship’s Council members to safety

During the Sky Pirates storyline, find and read sources of information on the Aetherblade pirates.

NOTE: Make sure to do this before leaving the Case Closed instance, otherwise you will need to replay the episode since currently theres no option to replay this instance.

Story Instance: Ceremony and Acrimony – Memorials on the Pyre
Complete Memorials on the Pyre without being downed or defeated. As long as you are using a good build like one of these Open World Builds you will get this achievement without problems.
Tassi Master – 1AP ⭐
Story Instance: Hard Boiled – The Scene of the Crime
Use the tassi box to scan 11 potential suspects, primary or otherwise. Use the skill #1 from your scanner on all the NPCs with a green icon, you will see the first 9 right on the platform, then look for Kasmeer walking around she will count as number 10, and finally go to west to find the Sleeping On Duty Lionguard as the number 11. The achievement won’t update progress until you scan all of them.
Check, First Mate – 1AP ⭐
Story Instance: No More Secrets – The Scene of the Crime
Defeat First mate Horrik within the time limit. As long as you are using a good build like one of these Open World Builds you will get this achievement without problems.
The time limit is 1:30 minutes just pay attention to avoid Horrik’s cannon attacks.
Patrolling the Bloodtide Beat – 3AP ⭐
Story Step: Aether Investigation
Complete 10 events in Bloodtide Coast to discourage unapproved piracy in the region. While this step is not exactly an instance, you can do this achievement easily when Aether Investigation occurs, make sure you go to speak with Ellen Kiel at Archen Foreland Waypoint – [&BKMBAAA=] at the start and she will mark clue locations with a green dot. These locations might spawn a Veteran event once you interact with it.
Still any kind of event of the map will count towards the achievement, the hero points can be repeated for progress on the story step but those won’t count for the achievement.
Patrolling the Bloodtide Beat 2 – 3AP ⭐
Same as above but a total of 15 events this time.
Asset Recovery – 3AP ⭐
Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
In the story instance The Aetherblade Retreat, plunder all of the Aetherblade chests. They are in order as you progress the instance.

Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
Complete Kleptotronic Advanced Designs without being hit by lasers. If you are already familiar with the Aetherblade fractal you won’t have problems earning this achievement. Otherwise, you need to run around in circles avoiding being hit by the laser walls while killing the golems that Frizz will activate. The small laser walls can be avoided by jumping on top of the crates, but for the big ones you need to keep moving. Ranged weapons will be the best for this to kill the golems while moving.
Equipment Failure – 5AP
Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
Leave Frizz crushed in his lab. You earn this achievement by completing the Frizz fight.
Don’t be Rude to the Brute – 5AP
Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
Show respect by saluting Horrik. During the final fight, right after Mai Trin goes away and you fight against Horrik alone, type the emote /salute to earn this achievement.
Personal Space – 15AP
Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
Avoid Horrik’s area attacks while fighting him. You need to avoid all the AoE from Horrik as well as ground AoE during the canon barrage phases.
Unfriendly Skies – 15AP
Story Instance: The Aetherblade Retreat
Use Aetherblade weaponry to bring down the pirate airship. After defeating Mai Trin interact with the laser canon to destroy the enemy airship.
Questions for Mai – 5AP
Story Instance: Case Closed
Ask Kiel about Mai Trin’s interrogation. Performed during the final instance Case Closed inside the Dead End bar.

Caching Out – 15AP
Discover Aetherblade caches across Tyria and the Mists. For this achievement you need to loot 7 chests inside some jumping puzzle areas. Not all of them require the full completion of the puzzle but you will still need to complete most of them. The caches are actually marked with a golden icon on the map, and you will notice these chests are guarded by some Aetherblade enemies. The locations are below:

Hunted down and killed members of Tyria’s newest pirate faction, any Aetherblade will count. You need a total of 250 for this achievement, you will probably complete this one by doing the following ones.
Aether Apprehender: Tyria – 5AP
Kill Aetherblades in any location across Tyria. You need a total of 50, doing the story will count as well.
Aether Apprehender: Kryta – 5AP
Kill Aetherblades in Kryta. Sightings include Gendarran Fields, Bloodtide Coast, and the Sky Pirates story chapter. You need a total of 50, doing the story will count as well.
Aether Apprehender: The Aetherblade Retreat – 5AP
Kill Aetherblades in their hidden lair during the Sky Pirates chapter. You need a total of 50, maybe you will need to rerun the instance to complete it.
Aether Apprehender: Fractals of the Mists – 5AP
Kill Aetherblades in the Fractal of the Mists. You need a total of 50, doing the Aetherblade fractal a few times will easily complete this.
Fractal Recursion: Aetherblade Retreat – 3AP ⭐

Fractal Recursion: Captain Mai Trin – 3AP ⭐

Plundering the Sky Pirates – 3AP ⭐
Loot the final treasure chest in the Aetherblade’s Secret Base in Gendarran Fields after completing the “Sky Pirates” episode. Complete the jumping puzzle “Not So Secret” to earn this achievement. You can use mesmer portal or teleport to friend but if you want to do it yourself and need help check the next video:
