Getting Started

The Secrets of the Obscure expansion introduces The Wizard’s Tower as a hub of operations similar to Eye of the North or Arborstone. By default this is a place that grants convenient access to the new Strike Missions, Convergences, and the maps in the Horn of Maguuma area. It also hosts a great number of vendors and services in close proximity for convenience.

How to access The Wizard’s Tower?

Completing the sixth chapter (6. Tower of Secrets) of the Secrets of the Obscure main story will lead you to this map. All characters in your account will unlock a portal in Lion’s Arch at Coriolis Plaza – [&BCAEAAA=]

Secrets Obscured – 3AP – 1MP

After completing the main story (10. Treachery) head south of Tower Courtyard Waypoint – [&BB8OAAA=] go up the stairs and you will see Isgarren above it. Interact with him to unlock the collection and start the journey to collect relics around Tyria.

Achievements

Wizard’s Tower Trial – 1AP

Complete the Wizard’s Tower: Gauntlet Challenge jumping puzzle for the first time. Head to Wizard’s Trial – [&BFIOAAA=] and complete the three phases of the trial to earn the achievement. This trial can also be completed as an adventure with a time limit for extra achievements, for that you can check below on this guide.

Wizard’s Trial Race – 1AP

For this achievement complete the race version of the trial. Each 10 minutes a race event will spawn at the start of the puzzle.

Keep It Up – 3AP – 1MP

Head to the Wizard’s Vault – [&BOENAAA=] and interact with the third orb on the left wall to start the mini-game. The objective is to stand on the white circle to keep bouncing the energy ball until the end. If it falls you will need to go back to the vault and restart. It is recommended to be in a group so multiple players can cover it, and it will be necessary to use mounts at some points. Skills like teleports and swiftness are important as well as the Relic of Speed.

Once the mini-game is completed, a floating energy ball will appear and can be used for a transformation effect. The mini-game will have a cooldown of 15 minutes once completed.

Wizard’s Tower Diving Goggles – 1AP

Head to Wizard’s Respite – [&BNcNAAA=] pick up the goggles next to the vista and jump into the water below.

Secrets Unobscured – 3AP (Hidden)

For this achievement you need to discover three hidden treasures. First interact with a Veil of Visions which is like golden sparks and you will get the “Strange Visions” effect, this will make your screen surrounded by purple darkness and several “ley-line anomalies” will spawn pointing to the treasure location. While you are under this effect you have 20 seconds to find the treasure.

Check below the locations for the start point and the treasure of all three.

Flashing into Focus – 1AP (Hidden)

Activate all four hidden symbols before the time limit. These can be found above some pillars, get on top and “Calibrate” them. Fly with your skyscale to the next ones. Check the map below the locations.

Find and interact with the Awakened Merchant south of Astral Ward Barracks – [&BFAOAAA=]

Adventures

Hide-and-Seek in the Wizard’s Tower – 5AP

For this achievement you need to win a total of 20 games of Hide-and-Seek against the djinn Alya. To start you can find them at the top floor of The Wizard’s Tower next to the mastery insight (check map below).

Once the mini-game starts you have 4 minutes to find Alya and there are 10 possible locations. All of the locations are at the top floor and some even higher. The map below shows all the locations.

BUG: There are cases when Alya will not show at all and can be a graphic bug due to the high load of assets on the map, reload the map to fix.

Hide-and-Seek in the Wizard’s Tower: Master – 5AP – 1MP

For this achievement you need to find Alya in a Hide-and-Seek game in under 60 seconds. This can be easy to do if you know all the locations, check the video below to see how it’s done and an overview on all the possible locations.

Wizard’s Tower Trial: Gold – 3AP – 1MP

This is the adventure version of the Wizard’s Tower Trial, you can start by interacting with the flag at the start. For a gold medal you need to complete the trial in under 4 minutes. Check the video below to see how it’s done:

Wizard’s Tower Trial: Silver – 1AP

Complete the Wizard’s Tower Trial adventure in under 8 minutes to earn a Silver Medal. Completing it in Gold will award this automatically.

Wizard’s Tower Trial: Bronze – 1AP

Complete the Wizard’s Tower Trial adventure in under 12 minutes to earn a Bronze Medal. Completing it in Gold or Silver will award this automatically.

Wizard’s Tower: Fly by Night – Gold – 3AP

This adventure can be found at the top of The Wizard’s Court – [&BLUNAAA=] and it’s only available during Night Time. Specifically you can do this adventure during a time window each hour from XX:40 until XX:20. The key to perform well in this adventure is using your Skyscale Dash ability (dodge) as much as you can, the orbs will also refill endurance. For the Gold medal you need to grab 35 orbs under 1:30 minutes.

Wizard’s Tower: Fly by Night – Silver – 2AP – 1MP

Complete the Fly by Night adventure getting at least 25 orbs to earn a Silver Medal. Completing it in Gold will award this automatically.

Wizard’s Tower: Skyscale Target Practice – Gold – 2AP

This adventure can be found outside the tower, east of Tower Courtyard Waypoint – [&BB8OAAA=] and will only be available during a specific time window. Each 2 hours (1hr after daily reset for reference) and will be open for 45 minutes. You require the Fireball skill on your Skyscale to shoot down targets while completing the course. For a Gold medal you need to destroy at least 25 targets and complete the course.

Wizard’s Tower: Skyscale Target Practice – Silver – 1AP – MP

Complete the Skyscale Target Practice adventure destroying at least 15 targets to earn a Silver Medal. Completing it in Gold will award this automatically.

Wizard’s Tower: Skyscale Target Practice – Master – 3AP

For this achievement you need to complete the Skyscale Target Practice adventure while destroying all 30 targets under the time limit and complete the course. Earning this achievement will award Gold and Silver automatically. Check the video below to see how it’s done:

Collections

Zojja’s Journal

Head to Rift Hunter Lounge – [&BOgNAAA=] and talk with Zojja. You are required to complete at least chapter 8 of the story (Into the Obscure) to be able to see her. If you still can’t, try reactivating the story step in your journal and reload the map.

After speaking with Zojja, six new collections will appear, these will require you to complete some events and pick up some notes around Skywatch Archipelago map. The rewards for this collection are 5AP, 1MP and the which have different animations depending on the race and gender of your character, you can check the video below showcasing them all.

Once you complete all sub-collections return to Zojja to finish the collection.

Collect all of Zojja’s journal pages in the Devastated Garenhoff area of Skywatch Archipelago.

  • Help the villagers in Devastated Garenhoff.

Collect all of Zojja’s journal pages in the Skyward Marches area of Skywatch Archipelago.

  • Restore purpose to the Zaishen of Skyward Marches.

    • You need to convince the Zaishen Warriors by picking dialogue options, if you pick the wrong one you will need to fight and defeat enemies before trying again.

    • Defend and capture the area, use traps and defeat enemies on it. After the zone is secured defeat the Avatar of Envy to complete the event

Sorrow’s Lost

This collection will be unlocked after you complete the Dagda chain of events at Astronomic Nexus Ring – [&BM8NAAA=] in the Bastion of the Celestial. For more information on the events check in the Amnytas Achievements Guide.

Dadga will require you to collect a total of 24 cards which you can find around the world after completing specific events and you will receive them through mail. This collection will award 15AP.

    • Use the correct poses to help Vanak complete the spell, the skill and poses have the same colors, stand on the green circles while mimicing the poses. At the same time the area needs to be protected from Kryptis contesting the circle or the ritual will be interrupted

    • Interact with a “Pile of Barrier Scraps” to obtain a special skill with a color, then fly with your skyscale near the broken barriers in the air, find one with the matching color and use the special action key skill to trigger a memory mini game which will repair the barrier if successful.
